(A puzzle aye, sweet this should be fun, lets see if how I can figure this out..)

Valgorr: "I shall keep such in mind"

Zagara: "ah interesting, so there are those among your species who are immune to fire."

XerKhon gave Myranda a sort of odd look

Valgorr looked at Alyna with a curiosity as she left

Sivtress, Rynza, & Tegedar noticed the brief exchange between Valgorr & Alyna

------------------------------------

As the Energy Harvesters were absorbing the fire storms, Kilysa noticed that the radiation wasnt showing signs of decreasing. Using Psionic Navigation she viewed Remelax mentally in real time analyzing the planet. Noticing a peculiar pattern in the fire storms starting point in relation to the planets orbit she had the Energy Harvesters line up several km apart powering up to fire a succession of EMP waves & Energy Blasts at the suspected origin of the fire storms. Also she had a Drone fighter fleet orbit the planet & collected data on any activity in Remelax's atmosphere & anything in the planets orbit. (Minus the other Formic ships :-P)

the firestorms have a source and if observed from space they move as if they were orbited by Remelax.)

Myranda surprised by the Queen's conclusion tries to explain: "What? No, Unburnt One, all Ghashyr are hurt by fire! The explanation is far simpler; the Enflamed Enthronement is performed while the emperor-to-be wears the imperial arsazezyn armour, which protects parts of him, or her, from burning, in the meanwhile it is customary to drink a secret potion that makes ones' skin more moisty than usual while it raises body temperature. Nevertheless there have been Emperors that had to try more than once in order to pass the ritual, since moving even in the slightest while one sits on the throne is quite painful and it demands great will and self-containment to remain perfectly still while clad in heavy Arsaz armour.   ...It short of symbolises the calmness, willpower and personal sacrifices an Emperor would make for the good of the empire. I'm sorry if I'm being too curious your greatness, but do you Formics have rituals as well?"

(Kilysa's actions reveal that the firestorms of Remelax all move parallel to each other and change course only when a new firestorm errupts, surely this is not natural.
Furthermore it seems that firestorms are affected by the presence of electrical signals/pulses that come from living beings and especially that of the Ghashyr; You notice heavier firestorm activity close to your landing point. When a firestorm vanishes, another one immediately takes its place in some random location. You can now follow firestorms for a while and pay closer attention to them, if you find how you can attract them.. hint for later: "A beginning is a very delicate time".)

(Non-usable info: I'll RP in behalf of the Firestorms. I'll describe what effect each action of yours has on them, ie; the harvesters did absorb the radiation, but upon the firestorm's vanishing another took its place.)

Zagara: "ah yes I see, that is quite an intense ritual, it seems Ghashyr to great care in determining whose worthy of the throne, oh no your curiosity is most welcome it shows a desire for knowledge, yes Formics have 5 traditions or rituals if you will. The first is a celebration of sorts that starts after a Queen or Male Formic is emerges from their 2nd cocoon fully matured although the process for Queens is more extensive. The second involves Queens choosing their mate. The 3rd originates from an idea the previous Swarm Queen which states that any non-sentient creature that is related to us should become part of the swarm & brought to its highest potential. The 4th is a sort of graduation when a Queen has mastered the Formic Psionic discipline, but this does not mean they have learned everything in the discipline (Zagara looks at Rokarr for a moment & turns back to Myranda). & the 5th is by far the most complex for it involves choosing who the next Swarm Queen will be."

Rokarr: "Mother has been the Swarm Queen since our home was destroyed, thus such an event has not happened since the previous Swarm Queen was chosen many cycles ago"

---------------------

Kilysa has the Harvesters stop absorbing the fire storms for now seeing that it only caused the pattern to shift, analyzing the firestorms movement patterns & attractions she has the first Harvester ignite an emp wave into the path of the firestorms to see if anything changes in the storms behavior. She starts thinking of other experiments to conduct. She doesnt yet know any of the mastery level techniques of Psionics, so she asks her mother if there are more advanced methods to utilizing lightening.

Myranda: "Yes, not everyone can become Talmyr, otherwise it would just be another noble title. Your rituals are quite interesting, I'm especially interested on the fourth ritual and how it is performed.    ...It's good that the first species we encounter considers rituals and symbolism important in society, there are many Houses and individuals amongst the Ghashyr that forget and scorn the traditions of our ancestors, but the majority understands and respects their importance."
Myranda notices the look Zagara gave to Rokarr "I'm sure your two daughters that I met will prove to be great leaders of your people, at least that's what a mere paladin of a foreign species presumes after meeting and discussing with them."

Myranda to Rokarr: "Who would be so cruel as to destroy a species' planet of origin?"

A few firestorms errupt close to the EMP waves. Kilysa can notice that they errupt from the surface of the planet and move towards the sky in certain angles before they start moving parallel to the ground, the atmosphere and each other. Hint: "Donald is an uncle to Huey Dewey and Louie"

Zagara:

"ah yes it is curious you ask about this ritual as Rokarr went through it a short time ago, The ritual of the Psionic Discipline is very similar to war or martial disciplines that some humanoid species have. The Queen of interest is to demonstrate a certain proficiency or mastery of all Telepathic & Telekinetic techniques & abilities from the basic level (known as Shoku in the Formic Language), the advanced level ( Nenku), & the Mastery Level ( Dyokujin). The Swarm Queen & several other Queens who have already gone through the ritual judge the Queen of interest. After the Queen has demonstrated everything the judging Queens present a single challenge of their making to the Queen to test her abilities under pressure if you will, then the Swarm Queen will present 3 or more challenges. At the end of the Swarm Queens Challenges the judging Queens give there opinion on the Queens performance & if they think it is satisfactory, but the ultimate decision for if the Queen passes or fails the ritual lies with the Swarm Queens decision, & depending on if the Queen passes or fails determines how the ritual ends. If a Queen passes then she has earned the rank of Dyokujin. There are 3 additional levels after that but only 2 can be achieve without being the Swarm Queen"

"Yes it is very welcome to meet species with similarities, it is not often but there are rare times when a Queen goes Rogue & dishonors the Formic traditions"

"Yes I am certainly proud of Rokarr, Kilysa, & my 5 other daughters as well."

Kilysa: "It will be my turn reach Dyokujin soon."

Rokarr: "Well see about that, I hope your ready"

The glowing blue portion of Zagara's eyes turned into a fiery orange color for a few moments after Myranda's question to Rokarr, but then they turned back to blue

Seeing that her mom was thinking of the past Rokarr answer was swift & short.
Rokarr: "None we have meet in this Galaxy thus far, but there do seem to exist such creatures who think in those sorts of terms, but I think it is a discussion for later"

------------------------------

Realizing that the firestorms were being generated from a source under ground Kilysa had the Harvesters continue setting off emp waves one at a time while she used a Psionic Sonar ability to try & figure out what was going on under ground to cause these fire storms.

(Hint: "Donald is an uncle to Huey Dewey and Louie", what about Scrooge McDuck, ah so 3 pesky things are causing this mischief?)

( oh man no epic sand worm riding, lol )

( Heres a fun fact, Kilysa's name was developed from the word khaleesi :P )

Myranda to Zagara: "So this ritual proves a Queen is capable of keeping in line and protecting her subjects through telepathy I take it?"

(Myranda to Rokarr: "Who would be so cruel as to destroy a species' planet of origin?")
(The glowing blue portion of Zagara's eyes turned into a fiery orange color for a few moments after Myranda's question to Rokarr, but then they turned back to blue)

Myranda felt Zagara's uncomfortable feelings regarding her question and responded quickly to Rokarr to apologise: "Of course, I understand first-hand this a rather hard subject and I'm sorry for bringing it up, let's continue our talk about traditions. How do you treat those that break traditions and ancient law, us Ghashyr have quite harsh penalties..."

Kilysa's actions only reveal that the firestorms retain their angles as they go deeper, however the deeper they go their signal gets weaker and suddenly lost due to the thickness and composition of the planet's ground and Remelax core's natural nuclear reactions.

Zagara:   "yes thats part of it more even more so, its not so much keeping them in line but truly connecting with her brood causing her & them to operate as if they are one, at higher levels this becomes subconscious, the ritual determines if a Queen is ready to become a Hive Warden capable of over seeing & protecting her own planet."

Rokarr: "I have never witnessed such an event, & with the birth of all the various Krith Formics these will change to some extant, but looking at each ritual as they currently stand."

"With the first it would be like rejecting your own birthday party & gifts which would make it hard for a Queen to start that way because she would be forced to learn everything on her own instead of being able to draw on the knowledge & experience that others would have been willing to share."

"Without a mate a Queen would become broodless making it very difficult to expand her mental faculties or abilities to their there highest potential, controlling a Hivemind is as beneficial to a Queen as much as it is to her brood, in this case she would have no purpose or place in the Swarm thus she would be left to find her own way outside of the swarm."

"Not following the 3rd ritual / tradition is seen as being cruel to a distant cousin & depriving the swarm of its growth, this would inevitably result in other Queens have the right  to challenge her for her position or for the Swarm Queen to de-rank her until she proves herself a worthy Queen once again."

"The 4th ritual is for Queens who want to be Hive Wardens & answerable only to the Swarm Queen, in fact our Sister Niadra is one who wishes not to be a Hive Warden, she is capable of becoming one but she is more of a....flower child I believe the humanoid term is, she wants as little responsibility in the swarm as possible allowing herself & brood to be free to explore what ever ventures she desires, it just so happens most of those have turned out to be helpful to the swarm."

"The last ritual is the most extensive, complex, & honored involving only Hive wardens & at times the Swarm Queen, thus only those who are considered a part of the Swarm may know any in-depth details of the ritual or witness it."

"Also if a Queens actions prove detrimental,  she will be de-ranked & depending on the severity of her actions a certain portion of her brood will be culled, in a worst cause were a Queen has become an enemy of the Swarm her entire brood will be culled except her mate & any Brood Maidens (term for Queens who are not fully grown) she has spawned & That Queen & her mate will be banished from the Swarm, her Brood Maidens may stay if they choose or join there mother in banishment. For those that are banished they may eventually rejoin the swarm depending on what the action & or situation was but they will never be a contender for the Throne, but should she prove to be an enemy again her entire brood will be culled & she will be executed."

---------------------

Kilysa starts thinking that she is going to have to either introduce another mineral to the surface of the planet, find a way to block the firestorm reaction right where it starts, or aggressively terraform the planet.

Kilysa has the harvesters gather together, using there atomic breath they start digging a massive trench down to the point where the signal is suddenly lost.  While they dig all of Kilysa’s Havoc & Siege Drones run past everyone & out of the ship to where the harvesters are.

Myranda to Zagara: "Of course Unburnt One, a leader that understands and cares for its subjects is a leader that inspires loyalty. I guess we share the opinion that leaders should prove they can lead and protect their subjects through deeds, not only birthright!"

Myranda to Rokarr: "These rituals seem like vital parts of being a Queen both culturally and biologically, so it makes great sense that they're respected and breaching them is punished accordingly, even though I don't understand why their broods are culled - couldn't they be adopted by the other Queens instead? With Ghashyr it is a tad bit more complicated.  ...Ehm, I have to ask what a 'hoomanoid flower-child' is though, since I'm not familiar with the term."

Thiror and Alina had gone deep inside the Ants' hive, moving silently like shadows to avoid alarming the four meters tall and deadly Fireants of Remelax. When Ants crossed besides them they used their signal transmitters to mimic the signal of a Fireant larvae.
Thiror: "There's one of their bloody Queens! Aim for her belly."
Thiror turns his signal emitter off and brings out his smoke grenades "take the shot private - TA MUIR!"
As Alina fires the shot with the anesthetic on the Queen, Thiror's smoke grenades cause havoc and confusion on the swarm. The two crewmembers quickly move towards the fallen Queen and place four minor anti-gravity devices on her. As the Queen levitates above the ground Thiror starts pushing her with all of his strength towards the exit while Alina shoots at any Ant that comes close.
As they reach the exit running with the sleeping Queen, a large part of the hive is behind them trying to kill the two Ghashyr invaders.
Thiror: ALINA! GET ON THE HYDTRA AND TAKE OUT THESE VERMIN.
Alina runs at the HydTra and grabs the flare pistol, shooting flares at the direction of the Fire Ants and scaring most of them away. As Thiror places the Queen on the HydTra's cargohold a large Fire Ant raises its sharp Pinchers to give Thiror a fatal blow - in an instant Alina takes her firewhip out and cuts the ant in half.
Thiror: "Thanks Private, that was close! Now take us out of here.. I'll sedate five of these Fire Ants while we escape and we'll return later to recover them."
Alina: "Right Away Sir!"

After a couple of moments the two crewmembers return and recover the sedated Fire Ants and set course for the Formic Spaceship's landing point.
Thiror: "I swear to the Light Saints, after we return to Doth I don't want to see an ant again in my life."
Alyna: "Agreed about these ants, but the Formics seem to be rather nice..."
Thiror: "Pherhaps, but I've seen so many ants, talkin' and non-talkin', than an insectologist 'as ever seen in 'is life!"

Thiror and Alina reach the Formic Spaceship with the Fire Ant Queen and five workers/guardians, presenting them to Kilysa and the rest of the Formic royals.

As the Harvesters dig Kilysa notices that the signal gets stronger in the dug up area -foming a line- , but it seems that the signal won't stop close to the ground and the Harvesters will propably won't be able to go beyond a certain depth. Suddenly the signal stops as the firestorm ends - a new firestorm errupts close by with a similar angle towards the ground to that of the previous firestorm.

Zagara: "Yes indeed"

Rokarr: "Yes indeed these rituals are vital, the culling rules came about in ancient Formic history after a brutal era known as the Great Queen Wars. At is time there were only 4 types of Formics, & since Drones & Soldiers are not sentient the culling was seen as proper punishment for certain crimes. You see for beings who exist in Hiveminds very few individuals are sentient, but we discovered a Hive mind system that allows a high percentage of members to be sentient & still work efficiently together. Since then we have been working towards such an existence & will change some of our Traditions & Rituals accordingly."

"Ah yes Humanoid refers to beings who walk upright on 2 legs, & flower child refers to someone who rejects conventional society & holds to values such as life, love, & peace believing that there is never need for war & Violence & that nations should not have military's at all, this was not always the case but this is perhaps a better alternative."

___

As Thiror & Alina walked in with the fire ants Zagara, Rokarr, Kilysa, & the Krith examined the specimens linking with their minds so they could start controlling them.

Zagara: "Thank you Thiror & Alina These are primitive but have great potential, we can certainly gain new Formics from this species, Kilysa I will let you integrate this species, you have done excellent work in upgrading our ships & I cant wait to see your new ship designs, Im excited to see how your skills in genetics have progressed."

Kilysa: "Yes thank you mom, I shall do my best."

Rokarr: "Well I suppose we should be heading out, we have an appointment we need to keep, My nieces & nephews will be staying"

Kilysa: "Yes certainly but let me do something thing before we go, Myranda what are the optimal conditions for your species to live comfortably on a planet?"

--------------------------

Kilysa has the Harvester stop digging as the Havoc & siege drones arrive. The Harvesters surround the trench, Crawling into the trench the Havoc drones released the parasite drones germinating in their backs. The Parasite drones dive into one side of the trench spreading the Delta 1 Mutagen they carry into that portion of the ground, the Siege drones started digging various tunnels on the other side of the trench. Kilysa sent Soldier drones carrying various types of seeds & canisters to the trench.

(Hint : "The name of the tribe of the Angles is the root of the name England", im I going to have to terraform the planet :-P)

Myranda to Zagara: "Pherhaps besides our different appearance and biology we're more similar than expected, you greatness."

Myranda to Rokarr: "Ah, so not all Formics are sentient. I guess it is logical for a hivemind species like your own to extent the punishment to a Queen's brood, considering their something akin to an extension of her"

"I take it that there are many other Hoomanoid to have a term like that. As for the 'flower childs', we call them 'dragontails' since they're the last to lead, in contrast to the head that is always first. Our two Belaryon Emperors were like that, that's why their rule was so short and disastrous. No offense to your noble sister, but our world is not one that is kind to flowers, the 'rule of iron applies' as a lordly Fergrangal would wisely say."

-
--
---

Thiror and Alina bend their knee to the Queen and Thiror replies "Unburnt One, It is our duty to serve the will of our lord and our lord's guests, we're glad that our service was useful for your quest towards illumination."
Myranda to Thiror and Alina: "You did a good job paladins, you may now rest."

Myranda to Rokarr: "Oh you will be leaving? I hoped that we could discuss more regarding our species, Anyway I guess as Queens you will have more important tasks to attent and I could continue our discussion with your noble nieces and nephews."
Myranda turns to Kilysa: "Your higness, the only requirements are an oxygen based atmosphere, an average planet temperature close to 19 °C, a gravity close to 10.10775 m/s2 and well..  no firestorms."

-
--
---

The firestorms seem to be unaffected by Kilysa's actions, causing havoc on their path...

(Hint: No, you won't have to - Think outside of the box; notice the words of the previous hint and try to find which words also exist on the 'puzzle paragraph' above the hint. If you concentrate on that particular word that is needed, you will reach the next step.)

Zagara: "Yes we do have more in common then expected."

Rokarr: "Im not entirely certain if many humanoids have such a term, I was attempting to use terms that would be more familiar to your language, but I do like the term dragon tails, No Offense is taken, dragon tail Queens can be in the swarm but they will never be able to achieve the rank of Hive Warden."

Zagara: "My dear Niadra is an odd case as Formic's are concerned, but she is an example of a different path a Queen may take if one does not wish to rule, & seeing that not Queens will be able to this will be fine as long as she is still capable & willing to protect her brood & Swarm if necessary, which she has well proven."

Rokarr: "Yes mother, the rule of Iron, we have a similar term to this, 'Strong bark & deep roots carry the will of the swarm'."

---

Zagara gives Thiror and Alina a slight bow as they bend their knee

Rokarr: "Yes we must leave but we will be back at the conclusion of our tasks, yes as long as my nieces & nephews behave."

Kilysa: "alright, i may try to modify some of the conditions of the planet as a last resort"

--------------

As Kilysa is about to have her soldier drones planet spawning Shrubs she stops them suddenly thinking back on the signal the firestorms give off, she trys to tap into the signal of each firestorm trying to find out whats causing them.

(Facepalm, I was thinking of the process in which spice is produced so much I missed it, England => Angles => Segnal => Signal  XD )

Myranda nods her head, glad that the Queen of the Formics herself agrees with that notion.

Myranda to Rokarr: "Ah, I understand now why you used that particular term Queen Rokarr, Ghashyr do it often since we don't all speak the same language, or have the same traditions."
Myranda to Zagara and Rokarr: "Yes, such Lords and Queens are not fit for ruling, but can prove beneficial in other aspects   ...that's why they are still part of the dragon's body, and especially a body part that is responsible for balance; A dragon without a tail would fall down. 'Strong bark & deep roots carry the will of the swarm' describes perfectly the basis of our society as well."

-
--
---

Myranda bends her knee along with her crew upon seeing Zagara's gesture "Myself and My crew are at your service, if you wish for anything else your greatness."
All crewmembers including Myranda rise and Myranda turns to Rokarr "Well then I wish you a safe journey and I'm sure your nephews and nieces will honour you, Queen Zagara and Queen Kilysa during their stay."

-
--
---

Kilysa's research on the Firestorms' signals reveal that when they errupt they seem to have a certain angle, which depending the location they are, is different (firestorms that errupt in the whole south-eastern continent have angles ranging from 80 to 120 degrees facing the ground, while in the north west there is a very small area that angles with these degrees appear). You can now concentrate on the Firestorms errupting in these two areas.

(It actually was a double hint; "Signals' angles", but since Kilysa focused on the signals I'll give it a pass."
(Irrelevant; Heh, our little alien rascals seem to be social darwinists. I don't even want to think what would happen if your Formics were egalitarians)

An overseer walks up as Myranda is talking.

-
-

Zagara: "No you all have done very well indeed thank you"

Rokarr: "We shall certainly see, thank you again for staying with them, I will be leaving my main battle on the surface & my other ships will stay in orbit"

Kilysa: "If my nieces & nephews prove to much just speak to my overseer over there & they will relay the message to us."

Zagara releases her bind on Valgorr, & secretly tells him to please behave.

----------------

As the Queens head to the transport ship Kilysa asks her mom for a quick favor.

Kilysa: "Mom before we leave can you rotate the fire storms to these angles & see what happens."

Rokarr: "Im not certain we have time for this."

Zagara: "I will see if I can rotate them as we leave."

Using remote Telekinesis Zagara locks onto the fire storms signals & trys to rotate the firestorms in the South-eastern & North-Western sector upside down as her transport leaves the planet.

Docking with Zagara's main Hive Carrier Zagara's fleet warps to planet Shyr ready to use codename "Somandraqish" when needed

-------------------

After the Queens leave Sivtress turns to Alina,

Sivtress: " earlier when you look back at my cousin when you left, what was that facial expression you gave, we have noticed that unlike other Formics we have the ability to use them but do not yet know them."

Rynza: "since we are not fully grown yet we are unable to live with our Chrymerion sisters & brothers yet to learn about our other bloodline."

Tegedar: " what is it like to have your skeleton on the inside? I suppose your inside out yes."

-----------------------

(It actually was a double hint; "Signals' angles", but since Kilysa focused on the signals I'll give it a pass." :-P )

(Irrelevant; Heh, our little alien rascals seem to be social darwinists. I don't even want to think what would happen if your Formics were egalitarians)

(Formics have been like that since the ancient Queen wars were it was every Queen & her brood for themselves, yea this situation would be very different if they were egalitarians)

Myranda to Kilysa: "I'm sure it won't be needed."
As the Queens leave the Ghashyr all salute them and cry out "Ta Azgor!" (To the Light).

-
--
---

The firestorms return to their original Angles violently before vanishing and others take their place. Nothing is revealed.

( Okay, let's check current info: Firestorms errupt in angles ranging from 120 to 80 degrees only in two areas, North-West(in a small circle), South-East(in large circle), Remelax is spherical - their angles are related to the ground which means that whatever causes this is underground, so use geometry to find out where you have to dig. Kilysa can always return to find out.)

-
--
---

Alina to Sivtress: "It's what people do when they're happy or satisfied, it's called smiling and I do it often. Let me demonstrate - there!" Alina makes a wide smile to prove her point.
Myranda sighs once more.
Alina to Rynza & Tegedar: "Oy, haven't thought about it, it has a sooth, jelly-like feel I guess - we make up for it by using our hard Arsaz armour"
Myranda: "It allows our species to be more flexible and light. When it's needed, as my paladin said, we use armour"

( I created a 3D model at work with various possible points, & based on the intersection I’m guessing that whatever it is lays on or just below the equator on the opposite side of the planet. I’ll look at it again when I get a chance to double check. )

Sivtress: “smiling, sounds kinda strange yet fun.”
All the Krith Queens practice smiling alittle, the Krith males refrain for now.
Tegedar: “Jelly-like, it is hard to imagine living with your insides exposed like that, ah armour, Formics have methods for augmenting our skeletons for additional strength & or functions we want.
Tarakith: “Flexible & Light, this could be useful
------------------------------------------

Zagara's fleet drops out of warp outside of Shyrs orbit. Zagara, Rokarr, & Kilysa looked at the planet impressed with its size.
