"This structure was standing for so long, even before your kin was brought here? What do you mean? Were you not the original inhabitants of this world, your highness?" Feranzk ask, apparently confused. "Well anyway, just to answer your question first, it is imperative for our civilization to contact other sentient species as much as we can, provided that certain requirements have been verified that was met by the species we are scouting. Otherwise, we will observe silently without interfering with the natural societal evolution of your own kind. You were deemed as a rightful species that can be contacted with to know more about the entire cosmic realm outside of your own zone. That's why we are here. We are not the type of species who uplifts every civilization that we encounter, we just select those who deserve it. I am glad to announce that your race are one of the chosen few."

"Well I am pleased to hear that you are here on peaceful terms and not to deliver an ultimatum. And no, we aren't originally from here. We are...well, were humans at one point. Millennia ago, a species kidnapped us from our homeland of Scotland and put us in cryosleep for millennia as we traveled back to this system. Upon arrival, that species came to realize that the ones who kidnapped us were the last of their kind. The rest died of plague. But the kidnappers also wound up being infected. We were to be used as slave labor. We wound up possessing their world after they died. It took us a very long time to get to this point. Everything we know and have is left overs."

"Well... for a species who's living on borrowed, or more specifically a scavenged technology, all of this was pretty impressive. I suppose that your ancestors was a space age civilization or at least on a digital or pre-space era." Feranzk said, in a quiet amused manner. "We can continue our chit-chat into your meeting hall, your highness if you may."

The King seems a little offended but nods to continuing in the great hall and leads everyone in to it. Sitting upon the throne...

"No. We weren't space aged, in fact we didn't even have fueled powered vehicles. We had rudimentary firearms that used gunpowder. Swords, spears, daggers. These were our weapons of choice then. No flying vehicles, only sailing ships that took to the water, nothing else. When the beasts kidnapped us and then died off, we were forced to survive on our own. We struggled, thousands died before we could figure out how to progress. So as you put it...we scavenged. We had to figure things out and adapt them to our needs. It took millennia to finally get to where we were. No other people or species to trade with us. No one to shows us how to work things. We lost three cities and tens of millions of lives when we stumbled upon advanced reactors and had no clue what they were. The end result was three immense craters in the earth. Don't let what you see fool you. Scavenged or not, we had to earn every bloody thing you see. We sweated, bled and died to get to where we are. Here, let me show you what the beasts looked like."

He waves his hand over a small crystal dome in the thrones handle and a holo image appears showing their kidnappers

"We haven't encountered a species like that before, and we are not a decadent civilization. We would never do such horrible things." Feranzk said while looking at the image of the captors. "But what happened to them was pretty anti-climactic and surprising. Well anyway, we really understand the grief over all of the sacrifices that you've done for the survival of your species. Well to be honest, compared to us. You've been surprisingly lucky, if that timeline fits perfectly with our own history. Because I personally don't think that a plague is really the cause of their demise, it's a lot horrible than you can imagine." he added, realizing something.

"If your abduction happened at least more or less a millennia ago, that was the exact same time when the galaxy was almost purged of all space-fairing civilizations. It was the exact time that the monstrosities we only remembered as 'Reapers' attacked this galaxy to "harvest" sentient creatures who achieved space flight in favor for more emerging civilizations. If you happen to arrive in the galaxy during that time, you were lucky because due to you being only a pre-industrial or an ancient civilization-classed race you were spared for the "grand harvesting". You can actually consider your existence as a miracle, because compared to what you experienced, we saw a horror far more frightening that what you can see in your whole life." the Emissary commander said in a very melancholic manner. "We, the Diyelians spend half a millennium sealing ourselves in our home planet. The only planet that survived the onslaught among all of our territories in the whole galaxy. We watched in vain as one by one our colonies succumb to ashes with our citizens dying without meaning. We saw everyone dying in front of our eyes. Not just millions, but billions of them. For more than five hundred years we are trapped in our planet like a prison within a paradise, living in fear of what might happen if our planetary shield, where no one gets in or gets out, would be removed. We mustered all our strength for that long to reinforce with what puny ships we have to reclaim everything that we own, forcing our species to be who we are right now." tears are seen falling from the Emissary's eyes, as well as the soldiers behind him, much to everyone's surprise. It looks like history has been an important part of their culture, and they deeply valued all of their hardships as a whole race of species.

"We deeply understand all the struggles that you have to endure all this millennia. But I can assure you, that everything happened for a reason. And what you are right now is very great miracle. Be thankful of your survival right now, because that reflects your resiliency as a species." the Diyelian said, finishing his speech and explanation.

"That is quite horrific. Any species that can threaten on a galactic level with such impunity...Well, I am pleased that we were spared. And I am pleased that you and the others that did survive this did so and have been able to move forward. I salute you folks."

The King and others present would also shed tears over the story

"We're a proud people. And though we didn't suffer at the hands of this blight that ravaged the galaxy, we too know suffering and pain and loss. What were these creatures like?  Not long ago, we uncovered crashed vessels with remnants of cybernetic or robotic beings. We're honestly not sure what the bloody hell they are. It's fare beyond our capability. The ships...they look like massive bugs or sea animals just mostly destroyed. No power sources, no life signs. Everything dead as dead can be."

"We call them the Reapers, known as the harvesters of sentience, the destroyers of civilizations. They were described thoroughly in our databanks. We can share that information with you if you want." said Feranzk, gaining again his composure. "For the meantime, we can go ahead and talk more about formal matters. What specific information would you want to know more about, your highness." he added.

The King nods

"We are in need of updated galactic starchart information and who is who and their borders. I would like to keep...accidents...from occurring. Also, any technological information you'd be willing to share would be most gratefully received. Our scientists are brilliant, but I am sure there is technology that they've never even dreamt of. An idea of what is out there so we could focus on the research would be incredibly useful. Also, being the first to visit us...I would like to hear and know more about you and your people."

The galactic star map has been provided to the natives, including especially the coordinates to the Diyelian territorial borders. Afterwards, Feranzk explained in full details the Diyelian people to the citizens who were with them during that time.

"We, the Diyelians originated in a planet called Frontreia Elyss, in the Galactic north," he said as he points the location of the Coreworld. "We are a proud, patriotic race which was suddenly thrown into the pits of Galactic scene. We are initially a member of the long extinct federation called the The United Federation of Planets when a galactic civil war broke between two alliances. The first one is coming from a nation who's records was completely lost during the Reaper Wars, but all we know is that they are an decadent, ultra-militaristic species that thrives on enslavement of other species. We at that time was classified as far as I know as a Meritocratic Republic, and as a species where treatment of lesser being was absurd and infuriating, lest enslaving other sentient civilization, we called for a war with them. A war with impossible odds hanging on our shoulders, in our first ever participation as a fledgling space-age civilization, barely escaping the borders of our home star system. The battle end with an armistice, with both sides not wanting to surrender. We are almost annihilated, but we shocked the galaxy with our almost stupid bravery, marking the rise of our species in the galactic scene as a force to be reckoned with. We spend as well, numerous civil wars, and interstellar ones with other races or unknown beings." he said, stopping only to rest for a bit, then continued explaining.

"And then it happened. We are nearing galactic prosperity, with the federation relations getting better while nearing its peak. Then the Reaper's assault began. First as stand-offs, then it became skirmishes, then large battles, until a galaxy-expanding war begins. The Reapers, outmatches everyone of us in strength, technology and numbers. Our puny weapons didn't do anything, and even our almost unbreakable morale crumbled because of them. And again, planets after planets crumbled, as we can only watch in pure horror our fellow comrades being slaughtered in tens of billions. Until our planet is the only one that's left standing, with sheer desperation, we unlockedan ancient artifact that ironically prevented the total annihilation of our kind." he said, tone of sadness imminent in his voice. "We are spared for the onslaught by creating a force field so strong that Frontreia Elyss was engulfed by strong gravitational field, erasing our signature from the interstellar map and trapping our world in a pocket realm or dimension. We are trapped for more than 500 Diyelian years, almost 700 years according to Galactic standards. Several civil wars happened inside, almost driving our race to anarchy and extinction. The first 100 years was spent like living in a hell-hole, and only when we are on the brink of destroying each other completely that we started rebuilding from the scratch, with nothing else but the dwindling resources on our planets, to reclaim an interstellar empire we once created. After we escaped that dimension which served as our prison-paradise, everything has changed, including us. The federation has been completely decimated, and only a few survivors remained. And after we entered the galaxy again, we are not the same naive race that we are once before. Everything that you can see about Diyelians are the effect of that brutal and bitter conflicts that we experienced." he stopped, and the moment of silence was broken by him standing and changing the topic to more formal one. His voice sounds melancholic after telling their history, but nonetheless adamant.

"Well other than that, the Diyelian believe in the purity of our species. We believe that we, as sentient beings has supreme authority over lesser ones. This, coupled by a culture of honor and chivalry where the strong protects the weak has driven us to create militaristic, yet supremacist xenophilic civilization. Quite peculiar, but yeah... that how the Diyelians would exactly be described. We extensively use a hybrid of bio-mechanical and techno-organic technology to create armors and war machines. Matter compression and a very strong preference for kinetic weapons are what we use to help create our weapons on the other hand. Our species has mastery over Terra-forming, which is used both economically, logistically and in military operations. Our military is specifically geared towards orbital bombardment, massive deployment and siege warfare on the offensive and trench, bunker and attrition warfare for defensive. We in general are normally open to other cultures and quite tolerant, but we have a quite annoyance when it comes to super-capitalist empires." Feranzk says as he's seen back in his naturally proud and patriotic mood. "How about you, your highness? What is your race all about?" he finishes his speech with all the denizens having their jaws dropped in such awe.

King Mac na Ceàrdaich- "What are we all about huh?" he rubs his bearded chin for a moment "We're a hard working, hard living, hard loving people. No one is wanting. We don't use currency either. Everyone is provided what they need and they can barter for what they want. Every man and woman has a job and a home. Everyone is part of the military at some point. Our schools are military academies and they enter at the age of five. They graduate at the age of twenty-two. During that time, they're educated, live in dormitories and learn careers as well as military training. Then from the age of twenty-two to the age of thirty they serve as active military and then retire unless they wish to stay in. If retired, they keep their military gear for they are considered militia at that point and must serve one weekend a month every month to keep fresh in their training. They're also responsible for the condition of their equipment. Everyone learns daggers, swords and spears as well as rifles, pistols and anti-armor weaponry as part of their life skills. You'll notice a blade and a sidearm on everyone from the age of ten and up here. We don't make use of bio-mechanical or cybernetic enhancements. Mainly because they've been outside of our scientific reach so far. We've got rudimentary robotics down and make use of robotic sentries quite a bit. Our navy is designed for ease of construction to save on materials and time as well as manpower. The ships layouts are also equally simple yet spacious and non-claustrophobic. They're fast, maneuverable and have as much firepower we can put on them. Very few of our ships are designed to be heavily armored, slower moving and taking a  beating style. Our infantry could I suppose be all considered shocktroopers. Heavy armor, heavy weapons and they can take a beating as well as dish it out. We also make use of long range units, especially the Armored Core." he thinks for a moment "machines of war that walk rather than slide or drive around. They have a crew of one to five and are masters of the battlefield. At least that's what they've been designed for since we'd never thought of encountering other species. So our thought process could be inaccurate. In life, we eat and drink a lot as it has always been. Our ancestors feasted as often as they could, so we do as well. Our Scotch, Bourbons, Whiskeys and Stouts will curl your toes and grow hair on your chest." he smiles and chuckles

When we were kidnapped and brought here, many of our people rebelled. They tried fighting the slavers but it was pointless. How can you fight against a monster with magical beams that make you disappear? Now we know that they were using a form of plasma disruptor technology. It literally tore you apart at a molecular level as it disintegrated you. Very painful, very fantastic looking when you're  a primitive barbarian. We eventually stopped rebelling and that is when they put us in cryo-stasis." he looks away longingly. "When we arrived and our captors woke us, we were greeted to the sight of of ruins and corpses within hours. Their world had been long dead. Their time to travel between galaxies was longer than they had expected and their people were dead already. Within a few years of arriving, our captors were dead. During that time, all we knew were the mines, fields and such. Back on our homeworld, we were farmers, soldiers and miners. So their taking us made sense. The mines here were tough. The minerals we were mining were to be used in starship construction. Of course, we had no idea then what the bloody hell that was but we know now what it was for. We also evolved tougher, stronger, healthier than what our homeland equals would have been like. The radiation in this system changed us at a genetic level. Our muscle mass is denser, our organs more efficient. We are Homo Sapien Superior as compared to Homo Sapien. Some of our people are even born Homo Sapien Supremus, what would be considered a perfect specimen of our genus." He looks at the guests eyes "We're not a greedy or warmongering people. But we will fight when needed and we will do so with such zeal and fanaticism that I am sure many would consider us insane. But fighting is ingrained in our culture. A feast isn't considered a good feast without at least two or three brawls. Many quarrels are settled through dueling with swords. We're fighters, no doubt about it. But we're also lovers of nature and a good time. Oaths are taken seriously and many clans have been wiped out of extinction due to one or more of their members breaking oaths or being treacherous. If one of us gives our word, you can bloody well expect it to be adhered to."

"Oh, what an interesting species. Would there be anything that you need to know about us? Like technology, weaponry and other sort of information about the galaxy?" Feranzk said. "Well anyway, your place seems nice, though a bit primitive based on our architectural standards. And I'm glad we are not the only species who don't put too much care in economy as our citizens are just given anything that they need. We might spend a little more time in here before we will go and depart. No worries, we will provide the opportunity take with us your most brilliant scientist and bravest commanders to one of our worlds dedicated to diplomatic relations to other civilizations. Your kin will meet a lot of species there."

King Mac na Ceàrdaich-"We've seen examples of your ships and people. So I think it's fair to say you are far beyond what our technology allows. And yes, our architecture is primitive. We've built what we could. But don't let the primitiveness fool you. This fortress is a weapon in of itself. It has more firepower than all our ships combined. And for us, money just wasn't important, survival was. I would be happy to personally escort you through our city and help you expose yourselves to our people and vice versa."

He nods to a guard who walks off

King Mac na Ceàrdaich- "The Captain will put together a delegation that will go with you to meet these other species."

"Oh yeah, those gargantuan constructs of war are a symbol of our defiance against the odds, still braving the cosmos in the midst of every tragedies that happened to our species." he said with a proud tone. "However, their main function is to act as space carriers for our soldiers, most especially in times of a battle and war. Since we specialize on planetary siege and defense, we opt for bulky ships that can withstand damage and return it while maximizing the protection of the soldier inside. The biggest ships that you saw are simply cruiser-sized ships. The bigger ones including Capital ships are normally being deployed in standard fleets. So these are not the biggest that we have." He looked around the fortress palace, carefully observing every bit of details. "Well, we have lots of this in our domain. The whole Capital in the Coreworld is a massive, nigh-impenetrable underground fortress, and we have dedicated planetary fortresses used by our military called Bastion Worlds," he added. He then bid the royalty goodbye, but then said that they'll be right back as soon as they can.

Feranzk and his team of emissaries gleefully strolled down the city together with the native guards, under the presence of their own soldier escorts. They've been toured around by locals, befriending them and answering their queries. One of the Patriots on the escorts saw the native soldiers peculiarly looking at and inspecting every bit of detail from his armor. He then showed them how his armor and weaponry works, showing first and explaining how his translator worked, then his armor and finally his weaponry, in which the whole escort demonstrated by firing their matter accelerator gunblades, much to the native soldiers' awe.

After a few days of being welcomed with full hospitality, the Emissaries received the message that the added ships will be arriving in the system after a day or two.
